IBM halts hiring for 7,800 jobs that could be replaced by AI
IBM, the international computing giant headquartered in New York, is halting hiring in its non-customer-facing roles that could be replaced by artificial intelligence, Arvind Krishna, the company’s CEO, told a reporter.
“I could easily see 30% of that getting replaced by AI and automation over a five-year period,” Krishna said, a figure which represents roughly 7,800 jobs.
