Mike Norris

Originally from England, I moved to the United States in the 1980’s.  After a few years of travel, I found my way to Los Angeles where I have lived for 30 years.  My education prior to arriving in the United States had been Geography and Commerce.  In the United States I attended Glendale College & UCLA for Computer Science studies.  My career has been within roles at entertainment and multiple retail organizations.  I have been a Forecasting Manager, Director,  Vice President and an Entrepreneur.

During this time I noticed the adoption of desktop computing and the Internet becoming essential.  I was lucky enough like many at that time to simply fall into roles where business years were condensed into months due to the advancement of technology.  It started with spreadsheets and databases, the internet browser, email, video and shopping carts.

During this period Microsoft released a spreadsheet program to compete with Lotus 1-2-3.  Microsoft Excel would change the business world forever with sales in the hundreds of millions of dollars.  Today, incredible technological advances reside inside Excel. Now we also have Microsoft Power BI a reporting program with Dashboards and KPI’s showing business’ where they stand at any given time.
