The Why’s is an interrogative technique used to explore the cause-and-effect relationships underlying a particular problem. Here is an example.
The boss wants to know why a customer wont pay for his new business flyers? Using the Whys Analysis we can answer his question.
1) Why – Does the client not want to pay us?
He says they arrived to late for his meeting and now he doesn’t need them.
2) Why – Did it take you a long time to send the flyers?
Difficulties in procuring the correct materials.
3) Why – How did the purchasing team not order the paper in a timely fashion. Nobody bothered to check inventory in stockroom, they got word too late.
